Client’s Need
A customer fills in an account opening form in his own handwriting. This forms need to be digitized and OCR for data collection efficiently with least human effort.
Goals of the project
- Accurately OCR both block and freely written text from account opening forms.
- Enhance efficiency in digitizing forms to streamline bank processes.
- Achieve high accuracy for both block and freely written text.
Our Approach
Employed Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for recognizing capital letters in block writing.
Utilized CNN and bidirectional LSTM for identifying freely written text.
Outcome
With our app:
- Achieved more than 98% for block text.
- Achieved more than 70% accuracy for freely written text.
